THE WINGS OF HISTORY Lindbergh’s native country houses The Wings of History Museum, an organisation dedicated to the preservation and restoration of antique aircraft and displaying items from aviation history. However, you may also explore the aviation heritage in his father’s native country. Aeroseum in Gothenburg is a museum located in a 1950s subterranean hangar 30 metres below the rock surface. During the Cold War, this was one of the most top-secret defence facilities. At Aeroseum you will get hands-on experience with all kinds of aviation. Get winched up to a helicopter, try the flight simulator or let yourself be fascinated by the countless flying machines, following in the footsteps of some of the secret heroes of the Cold War. 26 LINDBERGH EXPLORER
